Carne Guisada


This recipe is delicious and one of my hubby's favorite dinners! It is also very easy to make!

Ingredients:

Beef stew meat 2-3 lbs
Flour - 2-3 tbsp
Cumino/Cumin 1/2 tsp
Garlic Powder  2 tsp
Onion Powder  1 tsp
Water 1 cup
Salt (Optional)  To taste
1 tsp tomato & chicken bouillon (Knorr brand, "Caldo de Tomato con Sabor de Pollo)
Cilantro chopped 1 sprinkle

Cooking Instructions:
  1. First you would brown the meat in vegetable oil  
  2. Next, mix in flour
  3. Then, add remaining ingredients and stir
  4. Simmer covered at least 2-3 hours. Add more water if needed. 
  5. Serve with warm tortillas

  1. Yes I cook my recipe on low for around that amount of time. My family prefers the meat tender. You can adjust it to your liking.

  2. I threw everything except for the flour and cilantro in the slow cooker for about 4 hours. When it was done, I added the cilantro and cornstarch/water mixture. It was delicious!
